Here’s a heartwarming surprise courtesy of our dearest scholars from Megaworld Foundation!
The company’s socio-civic arm is gifting Megaworld employees with very special performances as it formally launches the Mega Scholars’ Symphony, its very own chorale group featuring 10 talented scholars from various schools supported by the Foundation itself.
“Despite the continuing pandemic, we still have lots of reasons to stay inspired and in love, not just with the people dearest to us, but also with our careers, our friends, and even our passions. We have put together the Mega Scholars Symphony to showcase the amazing talents of our beloved scholars and also put smiles on the faces of our dear employees who have been working very hard throughout this pandemic,” said Dr. Francisco C. Canuto.
The group is composed of 10 Foundation scholars who were handpicked from the auditions held back in January. They were Hector Daniel Rebadavia and Louie Fiel Enrica, both from Far Eastern University – Institute of Technology; Kyrelle Chesty Francisco and Gabriel Valencia from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila; Sophia Melanie Cruz, Kate Ledesma, and Angelika Mari Blanes from Quezon City University; Jackelyn Yodico from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde; Victoria Angelene Publico from National University; and Robert Valenzuela from Universidad de Manila.
“I feel honored being a part of the pioneer batch of the Mega Scholars’ Symphony. Being able to create music with my co-scholars warms my heart as we can inspire our fellow scholars and even Megaworld employees through our music,” said Hector Daniel Rebadavia, who has been the designated leader of the Mega Scholars’ Symphony.
Hector, who also serves as the current president of the Far Eastern University Chorale, shared that being part of the Foundation’s chorale group is a unique opportunity for him to share his talents and help others pursue excellence in their craft.
“I was hesitant to join the group at first, but when I was told that I will be leading the team, I realized that this was a great way for me to be able to teach and inspire my co-scholars through music,” he shared.
Watch the Mega Scholars’ Symphony perform their rendition of Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin’s Ikaw at Ako, with the country’s most romantic mall, the Venice Grand Canal, as their backdrop:
What’s more, the talented group also performed Regine Velasquez’s hit song, Pangarap Ko Ay Ibigin Ka. Marvel at their amazing talents in this video:
